Ajang penghargaan “Circle Chart Music Awards” yang dulunya dikenal dengan nama “Gaon Chart Music Awards” kembali digelar di tahun 2023 ini. Pada tahun ini, malam penghargaan acara tersebut berlangsung di KSPO Dome, Seoul, pada 18 Februari 2023 lalu.
“Circle (Gaon) Chart Music Awards 2023” merupakan kali pertama acara ini digelar setelah melakukan rebranding. Seperti yang sudah diketahui, chart musik yang dulu namanya Gaon Chart kini sudah berubah nama menjadi Circle Chart.
Seperti acara yang berlangsung pada tahun-tahun sebelumnya, penghargaan ini juga dibagi ke dalam dua kategori. Kedua kategori ini adalah musik digital dan album fisik.
Penghargaan musik digital diberikan kepada 12 lagu dengan jumlah unduhan (download) dan pemutaran (stream) terbanyak setiap bulannya. Untuk “Circle Chart Music Awards 2023”, lagu yang mendapatkan penghargaan ini adalah lagu yang dirilis antara bulan Desember 2021 hingga November 2022.
Sementara itu, penghargaan album fisik diberikan kepada empat album dengan penjualan terbanyak setiap kuarter. Sama seperti penghargaan musik digital, penghargaan album fisik diberikan kepada karya musik yang dirilis antara Desember 2021 hingga November 2022.
